Happy New Year to my new Friends
Hi Everyone ~
Just wanted to wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR. It's 11:30pm New Years Eve. Thought I pop off this message before trying to go to sleep. Hubby and I are leaving early in the morning with our Border Collies to head back to the VA Hospital. The soldiers really love it when the dogs visit. Just wish we could get there more often. We'll probably spend the whole day then head home for a dinner with family at the Olive Garden (no pasta for me, just salmon) :)
Vickie ~ you were so kind to me when I joined this forum. I truly hope you start to feel much better.

As for me....my sleep is just crazy tonight. I sleep an hour and am up an hour and so on and so forth. I sure hope this straightens out soon. I am so tired that I practically fall into bed. Why I am waking up so much is so strange!!
I don't have much planned for today. I still need to do some laundry. Today may be the day! I want to do some more walking. I haven't walked a lot because the flu is going around here and I don't want it!!

WOW I am getting OLD!!! Can't even make it to midnight anymore!! LOL Rick called me a party pooper!!! 
Well I am not as young as HE is!!!! Sighs!!! He came in at midnight for a kiss and Bandit went right after him!!! OMG!!! Nobody messes with his mommy!!! LOL
It is so darn cold here this morning I just let Bandit go outside the door...he sure didn't stay out long!!! BRRRRRRRRRRRRR 
Waiting for the Parade and then the Ohio State vs Alabama game. GOOOO BUCKEYES!!!! Sure hope they can win this game!!!! 
Keeping an eye on this weather also...looks like we could get some freezing rain this weekend also plus some snow?? YUCK!!!

Connie you NEED to get yourself some masks to wear when you go out!!!! They are not that expensive!!!! Better to be safe than sorry in the complex!!! Sure do have many that don't care if they contaminate others there!!!! Just like here!!! IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!

Hubby and I were born and raised in Chicago and just couldn't take the crime anymore so we build a home in the country. We love it! Well, gotta close for now. We're headed out the door. Judy....CRS is killing me...I went to Target yesterday purposely to get masks and more hand sanitizer. I came home with two bags and forgot both the masks and sanitizer !!!! I even had them on my list!! I am too damn cold to go anywhere today. I almost froze yesterday!!

My hands are feeling like they are sleeping right now...must need an adjustment in my neck again. Hate when they get like this!!!
My home made sauerkraut and ham is in the oven about an hour to go yet...yummm!!! Smells nasty in here but it tastes so darn good!! LOL
Still not dressed yet...might not even get dressed today!!! Feels good not to be dressed even!!! LOL So far the phone rang once answering machine picked up no message left. GOOD!!! DUMMY whoever that was that called on a holiday!!!
Sitting here drinking a Steel Reserve 211 Spiked Punch and let me tell you it IS strong!! But tastes good. Taking my time drinking it also!!!
Watched the parade and was somewhat upset over how they didn't spend much time on the horses as they normally did in the past. WTH??!!! Oh well...nothing I can do about it.
Still watching the weather reports for us for the freezing rain to hit and when. Not happy about that but again I can't stop it. Just makes me happy I can stay in bed and Rick has to work...lol.

Hi Judy...yes... I do wear a scarf around my face when I am outside. It helps me not to breathe in that harsh cold air. I have COPD and have to be careful. I don't want to get pneumonia. Remember the winter before last, I had it for 3 months!!!That was the worst. I felt like I was going to die may times!! I want the face masks for when I go into the halls here or go shopping.
I am sure your ham and sauerkraut was delicious. I made some chicken sausages w/kraut. It was so good!! I love sauerkraut!! I ate it for three meals. My apartment still smells a little. I light candles and spray Febreeze, that takes care of a lot of the odor away. Lots of people here cook with sauerkraut I can smell it quite often.
For dinner tonight I just baked some chicken thighs, made some Stove Top Stuffing and steamed brussel sprouts. After I made the stuffing I remembered I had homemade stuffing in my freezer from Thanksgiving!
I now have plenty of leftovers for a few days. I will probably end up freezing some of this stuffing as well. Someone on Facebook told me she uses left over stuffing for making a meat loaf. I want to try that some time too.
I hope you enjoyed your spiked punch. It sounds good. When I see my doctor on the 14th, I am going to ask her what she thinks of me having a glass of wine in the evenings. I miss that with my evening meal.
You are right, they didn't show horses in the parade like they always did. I still enjoyed the parade!

Your food sounds so good!!! My sauerkraut was sour!!! Not sure why mine was and Jeff's was not on Christmas!! Maybe because I used ham?? But it was still good!! Rick has been running to the bathroom several times....roflmao!!
